Traveling Options With Baby Bottle Warmers
How do you chose a good baby bottle warmer if you want to use it for travelling? It depends. There are some baby bottle warmers that you can use in a car and plug into a cigarette lighter.

This model comes with features to prevent overheating and it works well with all bottle types and sizes. I have used this one to warm up different bottle sizes - 3oz bottles, 4oz bottles, 6oz bottles and 9oz bottles and it works great with everyone. The unit is a "wrap around" unit that warms the bottles on the go in the car without the necessity of using water or steam. It is like a sleeping blanket for bottles that plugs into a lighter. They are very easy to use - you jut lip the bottle in the sleeze and adjust the velcro strap so it fits snug around the bottle and then you push the on button. Once you get it on you can put the bottle warmer in any cupholder in the car. If your family is into long car trips then this one will be flexible enough to accomodate your travel baby bottle warmers requirements.
The Sunshine Kids Warm N Go Insulated Travel Bottle Warmer which you can find from Amazon.com is absolutely fantatic. This insulated unit is made with neoprene that is stretchy and has a very different kind of heating system. Because it is so stretchy you can fit it around any size bottle. It plug into your car lighter and you can fit it in any cup holder or you can even hang it on the dashboard. What is great about this bottlw warmer is that if includes an indicator and a thermal fuse which prevents the unit from getting too hot.
The bottle warmer with the bst reviews is the Dex Products Automobile Bottle Warmer. Like the others you can heat baby bottles in the car by plugging it into the car lighter. You can pop in a bottle when you start the car and when you are ready to rool you will have a wamr bottle! I tested this one and I would probably say that the unit works better with room temperature. If you are travelling in a car this product is amazing. Another thing about thi product is that bottles should be totally round in order for the unit to work very well. If they are not round then the bottle cannot properly contact with the belt that warms the bottle. We actually used this for a few months when my husband and I travelled for the summer. we were on the road and it was very conveninent.
So all in all the bottle warmers for travel listed above are for warming up cold bottles of milk when traveling with your baby. You can use then in car, SUV's, minivans, airplaces or cruise ships. Some of them are self-powered so you can use them in retaurants or if you are spending the day outside. I think what is important to realize is that the travel baby bottle warmers are not as efficient as the home units powered by electicity. They tend to take more time to warm bottles, and you can wait anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the quality of the warmers. What can you expect to pay? I would say in the same range as home unit - in the .00 to .00 range. You can find them used on amazon.com.
There are several that I did not discuss, such as the Hot Pack Travel Battery Warmers which contain heat energy in the liquid chemical that retains heat until you activate it. There are also Butane Travel Bottle Warmers that you can buy. I believe that one of these product is from a company called second nature. The butane cause a small flame to generate heating to warm up your bottles. You can buy refill butane cartridges. You can also buy a power inverter (not converter) which convert your car's 12 volts to regular voltage so that your normal bottle wamers from home can be used in the car.

We weren't there as much for the shoes and asparagus as we were to visit the sites that have earned Trujillo its status as a World Heritage Site. But first, we needed accommodations. I suppose due to it having one of the strongest economies in Peru, all the hotel prices were waaaaaay more than we had anticipated paying so we had to do some searching. We came across a place recommended in the Lonely Planet book...well, not exactly recommended. I believe the direct quote was something like, 'if you'd like to stay in a prison, here's your place', or something like that. We checked it out, found it to be mildly dingy but really cheap and decided that prison life was good enough for us.
